Illustrate Magazine - Cruise Control Review (USA)
As Will Smith once said... "Just cruisin." Thank you Illustrate Magazine for the super dope write up on "Cruise Control!"
"Honor Flow Productions are a talented group of Los Angelinos with musical finesse and skill. Their track “Cruise Control” is a dreamy look into their hip-hop essence. It’s filled with a masterful flow and a jazz-style rhythmic atmosphere that puts your mind at ease. So, grab your drink of choice, call some homeboys, and chill out to the beats of Honor Flow Productions.
The entire track has a beautiful layer of melody starting with neo-soul guitar chords. Afterward, a saxophone arrangement is played over some light synths that sound like xylophones. The rhythm structure is looped, and the beats that follow have a distinct pattern that blends excellently with the song’s structure. Nearing the end of the track there are some parts where the DJ scratch [...] sounds so darn groovy!
Now, about the rap verses and spitfire lyrics, lemme just tell you to put on your seatbelt cause it’s gonna be a jam-packed ride. Every word, every moment of speech is just suave and perfect. Honor Flow Productions really amped up their style and expressions vividly and passionately throughout “Cruise Control”. They really got their old-school hip-hop vibe going, followed by some interesting rhythm structure. Overall, their track is smooth and packs a punch. Indeed, these hip-hop veterans are moving up in the industry and I hope only for the success and renown of these talented lads. If anyone’s wondering, “Cruise Control” does live up to its name, it’ll definitely take you on a cruise that fits into any mood."
